We are excited to announce the launch of our Legends of Runeterra tournaments in India. From August to November, we will organize 3 tournaments with a total prize pool of Rs. 7.5 lakhs. Over 15,000 players will be able to participate in this through their mobile phone or computer.

Our first tournament is scheduled from 8th August to 12th August, while the other two will be held in the month of September and November. To participate in the tournament, gaming enthusiasts across the country will be able to register from 30th July onwards on their Paytm First Games app. This tournament will be held online and will use multiple elimination formats depending upon the round.

Legends of Runeterra is a free-to-play digital collectible card game developed and published by Riot Games. It is set within the League of Legends universe, drawing on characters found throughout that game’s expansive lore. Released globally on 29th April 2020, Legends of Runeterra has quickly topped the popularity charts on digital game stores and is played 1v1.

Our COO, Sudhanshu Gupta said, “Further strengthening our association with Riot Games, we are excited to launch Legends of Runeterra tournaments in India much ahead of many other gaming markets. It will be one of the biggest esports tournaments organized in India in terms of prize money and participation. This is also a reaffirmation of the fact that India is among the fastest-growing gaming markets in the world.”

Riot Games South Asia’s Publishing Head, Sukamal Pegu said, “We are super excited to see PFG announce a competitive Legends of Runeterra experience for our Indian players. This will give Runeterra players in the region a huge platform to showcase their skills. The game has a lot of depth and is well suited for Indian players, with its focus on strategy and being able to outplay opponents with mastermind moves. We expect world-class Legends of Runeterra players to come out of the PFG series”

We are committed to bringing the world’s best esports tournaments to India and have recently partnered with Riot Games to bring grassroots tournament experiences for Riot’s mobile IPs, namely Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra. We also recently hosted a successful Teamfight Tactics mobile tournament in India in the month of June, which saw overwhelming participation from gaming enthusiasts across the country.
