We are thrilled to announce that we aim to become the largest publisher of homegrown games in our country. With our latest initiative, we will provide a launchpad to indigenous developers and design studios to promote their innovative games focused on Indian culture and folk tales.
The initiative will provide an opportunity to studios to build exciting games that will promote gamified learning on the rich Indian heritage, mythology and sporting history. We will be organizing a series of events as well as hackathons to identify young and talented developers to build those games that have the potential to be successful across all user segments.
We will help the developers with technology solutions and guide them to make their games more interactive, seamless and well-designed. Additionally, we will also promote these games on our app, reaching out to our 80-million strong user base. To facilitate all this, we have created a fund of Rs 10 crore for this initiative.
Our COO, Sudhanshu Gupta said, “Our country has the potential to revolutionize the digital gaming arena with innovative designs, technology, and talent. We believe it’s the time to lead the digital gaming sector with Made in India games that becomes a global runaway success. Being a homegrown company we want to play our part in enabling India’s gaming ecosystem. Our goal is to support over 200 talented developers, who may not have access to resources comparable to that of big studios.”
We have recently roped in global sporting legend Sachin Tendulkar as our brand ambassador. The icon of a billion cricket-loving Indians, Sachin would be instrumental in creating awareness about the exciting genre of fantasy sports in the country. Other than Fantasy Cricket, he would help us to promote and generate excitement around all sports including kabaddi, football, and basketball. In addition to this, we have set aside Rs 300 crore for investing in growing the market for fantasy sports and other online gaming events during this financial year.
