IPL 2021 Points Table, Orange and Purple Cap List after 29 Matches

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 picture has become a little clear at the halfway point. Delhi Capitals (DC), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are likely to make it to the playoffs. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) might battle it out for the final knockout berth. Will strugglers Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) spring a surprise in the second half of the season?

We take a look at the latest IPL 2021 points table and orange cap and purple cap leaderboard.

The 400-Club

Prithvi Shaw and Sanju Samson climbed into the top five of the Orange Cap chart, but Shikhar Dhawan still leads the race. He scored an unbeaten half-century against PBKS, who were without injured K L Rahul, and is on course to cross 400 runs for the sixth season in a row. It would be interesting to see if the likes of Faf du Plessis and Shaw can mount a challenge.

Shikhar Dhawan 380
K L Rahul 331
Faf du Plessis 320
Prithvi Shaw 308

Purple Cap battle intensifying

Harshal Patel didn’t enjoy a good week as he managed to pick up just two wickets and conceded plenty of runs. But the RCB bowler has a three-wicket lead over Avesh Khan and Chris Morris. Both of them have been taking wickets consistently and could overtake Harshal soon. Will an uncapped player remain top of the Purple Cap leaderboard next week?
